learning how to dribble

Noah went in the basement to play this morning. I thought it was a little quiet, so I went down to check on him. I found him in the store room with his ball. I said, "What are you doing?" He said, "dibble".

I was seriously getting yelled at because I couldn't find the sports section when I brought the paper in this morning.

After saying "no" to several requests for candy before 8:30 this morning, I was telling Eli to get dressed so we could go run some errands. He said, "Mom, I'm not getting dresesed until you give me candy!".

18 months old today

yeah!!!! Noah won't watch a Baby Einstein movie, but we had to watch basketball instead of American Idol tonight. He was even jumping on the couch saying, "go, go, go".

shoo hoops... pease

That's what Noah says when he wants help making baskets. Jake's and Chase's love for shooting hoops must be rubbing off on him. All Eli ever wanted to do with this thing is hang animals from the net.

The boys love Noah's new fire truck. It looks like I need to give the drinking and driving lecture already. The pop isn't open; he just thinks he needs to carry one around all the time.

Birthday party fun

We celebrated Grace's 5th birthday tonight. The boys had fun trying to break the pinata. Eli is pretty sure that Grace will be sharing her new makeup with him. Thanks for the pictures Cathy!

Friday night sleepover

We went to Jennifer & Rich's for supper last night, and Eli begged to sleep over. I don't know what time this picture was taken, but guessing by how fast Eli fell asleep for his nap today, it probably wasn't very early!

I can't believe...

I didn't take any pictures of Joel spending his whole morning taking Noah's crib apart (I must've been too busy trying to keep Noah away from the power tools). No, Noah is not getting a big boy bed. After trying to figure out how to make Eli's room look bigger, we decided to have the boys swap rooms. Now, Eli's full-sized bed doesn't take up the whole room, and the other room makes a cute little nursery. I think we've watched a few too many episodes of "Sell This House".

bored already??

So, today was the first day back with all my boys. Jake and Eli went to preschool although it was a little hard to drag them away from the new toys and get out the door. After preschool, it was lunch and nap time. Once the boys were up from their naps (around 3:00), they bounced around from new toy to new toy. At 4:00 Eli looked at me and said, "Now what should we do?"

Grandpa Jim was able to come spend Friday afternoon and Saturday morning with us. He got in on the Santa visit and some card playing (he was amazed with how much we eat. We didn't even finish the bag of chips that was on the card table.) Thanks for making the long trip!

more Christmas celebrations

Christmas #2 was at my aunt Connie's with my Dad's side of the family on Christmas Eve. We weren't planning to head up north until Christmas day, but we left early and my parents at the get together. We stayed at Krista and Brent's for two night. Somehow, Santa found my boys at Krista's, so we had Christmas #3. Then, it was off to Craig and Jen's for two nights. On Friday, we went to my parents' and the kids had a nice visit with Santa. Noah wouldn't sit on his lap, but he didn't scream either. We waited until Saturday to open the rest of the presents. New Year's Eve was spent playing cards, and then we drove home yesterday. We tried to get organized today, but that didn't work. I did however get a bathroom painted.

Christmas #1

Thanks Grandma, Don, and cousins for all of the great gifts! Eli couldn't wait to get home and tear into his new castle. He sat and played with it for an hour before he had to go to bed, and he loved it!

Happy Birthday Hubby!

We had Joel's birthday party and our Christmas celebration at Grandma Cathy's tonight. Notice Eli in the background by his toys. We told him that we weren't going to open anything until we got home, so he didn't really want to stick around for birthday cake.

pajama day

Since it's storming outside and everyone inside is still trying to get better, we pretty much just laid around in our pj's today. Noah did get dressed this morning, but he was pulling his pants off and asking for pajamas before noon.

much better than pictures of what was coming OUT of him a few hours earlier. Yes, nothing like an ice cream sandwich at 10:30am after a night of puking. He had already eaten a banana, two pieces of toast and a little cereal (In the Christmas letter, I forgot to mention eating as something you can find Noah doing when he's not on my hip). I guess he was feeling a little better although that's pretty much all he ate all day. He took a 5 hour nap and went to bed at 6:45. It's been a fun week with strep and the flu at our house. Needless to say, I was cleaning and disinfecting today.

squash and chicken noodle soup- what a combo. Out of the blue today, Eli decided he wanted squash. I already had to go to the grocery store to get a few things to make my sick husband some chicken noodle soup, so I picked up a squash too. What child requests squash?

peek a boo

Nevermind all the stuff he had to take out of there in order to fit. This poor little guy isn't feeling very well I'm afraid. He went to bed last night with a little fever at 6:30. It is 9:00am, and he is still sleeping. I guess it's a good day for a snow day. The roads are covered with ice, and MORE snow is on the way.
