a note from my Grandma

This is a copy of an email that my Grandma Mona sent me after Noah was born.

"I am impressed with the way you chose the middle name. I was wondering
about the middle name when you have a girl. Will you combine Mona and
Betty somehow? Like Bona? or Metty? or maybe Betona? I'm sure Joel
could put together a few more. I just thought I'd make a few
suggestions."

I responded by saying that she just gave me another good reason not to have another baby. Plus as you can see by the picture, I don't have room in the living room for another boy!

Mr. Mom

Today Eli tried to put nursing pads on his "nipples", and here he is changing a stuffed lady bug's diaper.

BIG BROTHER

How is Eli doing with all of this??? He likes to hold Noah, and say "hi sweetie". When Noah cries, Eli says "its okay baby". Oh- and he peed in the potty for the first time yesterday and has gone twice today. We'll see how it goes next week when Joel's back to work, but I would say that Eli is doing pretty well!

sleeping baby

Isn't he cute sleeping so peacefully??? Of course this is 1:00 in the afternoon and not 1:00 in the morning. Noah has decided playtime should be right about the time I want to go to bed.

Home Alone

We were sad to see Grandma Connie, Grandpa Steve, Auntie Krista, and Cousin Zach go home today! We really appreciated the help over the past few days, and Eli had a lot of fun playing with Zach! Tonight Eli went to the pool and splash park with his cousins, so the house was REALLY quiet! Joel and I didn't quite know what to do, but we took the opportunity to clean up the house a little bit. Thanks Jen and Rich!
By the way- does anyone know how we can get Eli to stop doing that CHEESE smile???? We've tried saying many different words, but the smile is still there.

The wait is over!

I woke up at 5:45am on Saturday and moved to the couch because I was having a hard time getting comfortable in bed (this had been going on for a week). Once I got to the couch, I started having contractions. By 7:30 they were 3-4 minutes apart. We got to the hospital at 8:45am and Noah Weslie was born at 9:45. We got home today at 3:30pm. Everything went very quickly, and we are all doing great! For those of you who are wondering, Weslie is a combination of my grandpas, Warren and Leslie.

Today was my last day of watching all the boys for a while. We sure are going to miss them! I've been spoiled by Grandma Cathy coming over on Friday mornings to play with them for a couple of hours so I can have some free time. Today she brought some costumes for the boys to dress up in. They had a lot of fun and were very cute!

Still waiting for baby! I ordered this dresser online on July 10th. My receipt said that it would ship within 2-3 business days, and they would let me know when it left the warehouse so I could track it. After 4 days, I emailed customer service wondering why my item hadn't shipped yet. The nice man replied that they had a large number of items to ship, and he was not sure when that would include mine. However, he said that if I still wanted the item they would pay half of the shipping cost. I decided that sounded okay since I wouldn't NEED the dresser for a while. Anyway- I got an email today saying that my order had shipped. When I checked on it, I noticed that it was already in Iowa. It arrived at my door 2 hours later. The company already credited my account with half of the shipping cost, so I guess this was a good deal for me! The best part was that my wonderful husband went right to work putting it together. He has been working on it for over 3 hours now. He's almost done, and I haven't heard one swear word. THANKS HONEY!!

Well- here I am; 39 weeks pregnant with baby #2 . (The picture was taken at 36 weeks. I try not to have too many pregnant photos!) While I'm waiting for baby, I thought it would be fun to start a blog. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, so you may have to bear with me!
